Waterfall Cards

Waterfall cardWaterfall cards are really fun to make and the card design can be used to suit any occasion. This waterfall card is for Halloween.

 scoring a piece of card

Begin making this waterfall card by selecting a sheet of A4 black card stock from your craft supplies and use a score board and bone tool to score a line to create a DL (tall) size card.

 folding a piece of card

Carefully fold the card along the fold you have created and trim off the excess card so it is a DL size.

green card

Select some green card or paper and cut it 1cm smaller than the front of the card. Use double sided tape to attach the green panel to the front of your card.

 themed scrapbook paper

Select some Halloween or dark themed paper from your craft supplies and cut a panel 1cm smaller than the green card. Use double sided tape to hold it in place.

 strip of card

Next, cut a strip of black card stock 5cm X 22.5cm.

 folded card

Score horizontal lines at 5.1cm, 6.9cm, 8.7cm and 10.5cm from the top of the strip of card.

 stamped halloween images

Stamp or print four Halloween themed images onto the same green card you have used for the front panel of the card.

 halloween images

Cut the images 4cm x 4cm using a scalpel and metal edge ruler.

 black squares of card

From a sheet of black card cut three squares 5cm X 5cm using a scalpel and ruler.

mat and layered image Mount the images on the black squares using double sided tape.

making a waterfall card Now place the first image on the first fold so the fold is at the top. You will only need to attach part of the image not the whole square. I find it easier to put the double sided tape on to the black strip of card rather than the back of the image.

waterfall greeting card Continue to place the other images in the same way as shown above. The last image will not be mounted on black card because it will be attached directly to the black strip of card.

eyelet setterTo make the pull tab cut an 8cm X 2cm strip of card from the same green card you used earlier and make a hole in the bottom of it using an eyelet setter. Then add an eyelet and set it in place.

green ribbonAttach the tab to the back of the black strip of card leaving approximately 3cm showing and place some ribbon through the eyelet hole.

a piece of black cardNext, cut a piece of black card 8cm X 2cm and poke 2 small holes at each end.

brads on a greeting cardAttach the strip of black card to the front of the card using brads. You will need to ensure when the waterfall mechanism is in place it fits the card correctly.

creating waterfall cardTuck the green tab behind the black panel so that the last square of the waterfall sits on the bottom line of the black horizontal strip.

double sided tapeUse double sided tape to attach the bottom of the last square to the black horizontal strip.

halloween messagePrint or stamp a card message of your choice  onto some green card.
