Scrapbooking in its earliest form was a way to blend memorabilia and journals together. Scrapbooks have been created since printed material has been available.

Older style scrapbooks tended to have pictures that were mounted with photo mount corners and the journaling was simply the names of who were in the photos and possibly when and where the picture was taken.

Only sometimes would the pages have memorabilia attached to them to make them more attractive.

Scrapbook kits will contain the basic craft supplies to create a few page layouts. The items you will receive will all correspond in colour, so you know they will work together.

Although the more professional scrapbook enthusiasts would probably not use a scrapbook kit they are perfect for beginners and will give you some great ideas where to start and what colours go each other. It will also be a good test to find out if scrapbooking is really for you.
