Folded Edge Birthday Card Design

A folded edge birthday card is a slight variation to a standard card design. By changing the papers you can use the same card design to create cards for any age or occasion you need a card for.

white cardBegin creating this birthday card by folding a sheet of A4 (210mm x 297mm) card in half keeping the fold on the left hand side.

folding white cardThen fold the top right hand corner towards you to form a flap.

making a handmade cardPlace a piece of patterned scrapbook paper in the top right hand corner of the card. When the front is folded over the scrapbook paper will be seen.

Cover the front with matching papers. When you fold the flap over you will need to remove the centre of the flap leaving a 2cm gap. Cover this with a solid color paper (here I have used purple paper).

Next, place two strips of ribbon or paper down the left hand side and use brads to hold it in place at the top and bottom.

Place some wording at the bottom of the card. Here I have used a ‘Sizzix sidekick machine‘ however, peel off stickers will also work.

Create a small tag from scraps of paper, card and peel off stickers or rub-ons. Use an eyelet setter to create a hole at the top of the tag and place a piece of ribbon through the hole.
