Graduation Congratulations Card

This handmade graduation card is perfect for a male or female. It has a lot of space on the front for some fun embellishments, and your graduation message of congratulations can also be place on the front of the card.

Begin making this graduation card by folding a sheet of A4 black card for card making in half (210mm x 297mm). I always use a crafters score board to ensure a clean crisp fold.

scalpelSelect a piece of ribbon from your craft supplies approximately 25mm wide. Use a scalpel to cut a slit along the top of the card (the folded edge) wide enough for the ribbon to pass through.

Cut another slit near the bottom of the card and pass the other end of the ribbon through the slit. Make sure the ribbon is offset to one side. Use sellotape on the other side of the card to hold the ribbon in place.

Cut two pieces of red card and place them either side of the ribbon using double sided tape. The two panes should vary in size, I have made one 130mm x 120 and the other is 135mm x 50mm.

Cut a strip of black card 210mm x 55mm. Place a piece of textured vellum 200mm x 50mm on top of the black card. If you do not have textured vellum in your craft supplies you can use scrapbook paper.

Use Double sided tape to place the panel at the bottom of the card.

Using a computer, print off your graduation message. Mat and layer the graduation message onto silver, then the same red card you have used above.

Place the graduation message in the bottom right corner of the card using double sided tape.

Then cut a piece of white card 85mm x 120mm and mount it onto a piece of black card 90mm x 125mm using double sided tape.

Cover the panel with graduation embellishments. I have used Jolees Boutique stickers.

These stickers are 3 dimensional and have glitter and jewels already attached to them so they really make the card look professional. Place the panel on the card using 3d foam pads.

Place two graduation brads in the top right hand corner of the card. You will need to cover the inside of the card to hide all the fixtures.

You should now have a really smart looking graduation card to congratulate someone on graduating.
