This is one of my quick and easy birthday cards for girls. The theme is classic black and white. If you wanted to make it more colourful then simply stamp the images with different coloured inks. The card is for a party theme which could also be used as a party invite.
Fold an A4 sheet of black card in half. Using a scalpel and ruler cut away approximately 2cms of the black card on all the outside edges.
Use a pair of scalloped scissors to create a border around the edge of the front of the card.
Cut a sheet of white card slightly smaller than the front of the card. I have used hammered card as it has a texture to it.
Select a few rubber stamps to use as the background. I have used a girly dress and shoes themed set of rubber stamps.
Next, use a black quick drying ink pad to stamp the images all over the white card. Place them randomly. You will need to place a sheet of paper underneath so that you can stamp over the edges, and at various angles without it damaging the surface you are working on.
It is down to personal choice if you want to emboss the images. I have used a quick drying ink pad and left them flat.
Now, find a piece of purple organza ribbon approximately 5-6cm thick. Tie a knot in the ribbon and place it around the white card sticking it down at the back with scotch tape.
Then, place two black and white brads on one side of the ribbon. If you do not have any brads in your craft supplies you could also use buttons.
Use a rub on, or peel off sticker for the birthday cards wording. Place the wording onto white card.
Using a corner punch, cut around the edges of the white card. Mount this onto black card leaving a 2cm border. Place the wording on the front of the card.
Because the inside of this birthday greeting card is black you will need to make an insert using white paper so you can write who the card is to, and from.
I used a printer to print the insert, however you may use peel of stickers or rub ons.
What an elegant card. I like it. Thank you for the totorial.
