Looking for Easter cards to make? Then this Easter card is fun, bright and really simple to make. It is a good way to use up surplus scraps of scrapbook paper as the eggs in the front of the card are made from small pieces of paper stuck together to form the wrapper around each egg.
Begin by folding a sheet of A4 card in half (210mm X 297mm) I find using a score board and bone tool is the best way to fold and crease a piece of card.
Cover the front of the card in Easter themed scrapbook paper.
Find a sheet of thick scrapbook paper that matches one of the colours that are in the paper on the front of the card. Tear the paper so it covers less than half of the front of the card.
I use Bazzill cardstock all the time because it has the perfect thickness and has a texture to it. Bazzill cardstock comes in a wide variety of colours and is also really great to use for scrapbooking because it is thicker than paper and holds embellishments really well.
Find three large ribbon brads in your craft supplies, ribbon brads have slits through them to allow you to pass ribbon through them. If you do not have these in your supplies you can use large brads and hide the ribbon behind the brad.
Use a pokey tool or scalpel to make a hole big enough to push the pins at the back of the brad through the card.
Once you have decided where the brads will go you will need to remove them to be able to pass the ribbon through the slits. Once this is done place the brads back onto the piece of card.
Attach the piece of card with the brads on the left hand side of the card using double sided tape.
Cut three eggs shapes from different pieces of card, again, Bazzill card-stock is in my opinion the best thing to use as it is thick and has a texture. Use various pieces of scrapbook paper and ribbon to decorate the Easter eggs.
Use some double sided tape to gather and stick the eggs together.
For the Easter message wording use alphabet stickers to write Happy Easter onto another piece of card that is the same as you used on the left hand side.
Finally and to finish off your handmade Easter card place the eggs and the ‘Happy Easter’ message on the front of the card using 3d foam pads.
When you are looking for Easter cards to make with children this card is great fun and easy enough for beginner card makers.
