This Christmas pop up greeting card is quite simple to make yet looks really professional and a great card to send to loved ones over Christmas. Furthermore by changing the embellishments this card design would be perfect for a birthday, celebration or congratulations card.
Begin making this Christmas pop up card by folding an A4 sheet of card in half and keeping the fold on the left hand side.
With the fold on the left hand side draw half a star shape on the card and cut it out using scissors or a scalpel and making sure you cut through the two layers of card.
Using a ruler, mark 7.5cm from the left hand side at the top and bottom of the card. Do this on the front and back of your pop up card.
Using the marked points, score and fold the sides so it looks like the picture above.
Place a peel off sticker all round the edge of the star shape you have just cut out. Doing this will make the star stand out.
Decorate the rest of the card with baubles or whatever Christmas embellishments you have in your card making supplies.
Put the decorated star to one side and fold a second piece of black A4 card stock in half.
Open the folded card and cover the inside with Christmas scrapbook paper.
Place double sided tape along the back of the two sides of the star section of the card just behind the baubles pictured above and attach this to the inside of the card you have just covered with Christmas themed scrapbook paper.
Once stuck together your pop up card should look like this from the top.
Put the pop up section of the card to one side and select another sheet of black card from your craft supplies in order to make the front of this card design. Cut the card so that it is 1cm smaller on each side than the front of the pop up section you have just made.
Select some Christmas themed paper.
Cover the four corners of the piece of card with the different Christmas papers using double sided tape.
Wrap a length of organza ribbon around the piece of card and tie a bow at the front to make your Christmas greeting card look like a present.
Place the piece of card on the front of the pop up section and secure it using extra strong double sided tape. You should now have a very stylish handmade Christmas greeting card that will really wow your friends.
