Sometimes simply changing the way you cut or fold a card can dramatically change the way a card looks. Whilst this handmade card is simple for any card maker to create, it is both striking and interesting at the same time.
Begin making this handmade card by folding the base card stock in half leaving the folded edge along the left hand side.
Mark out where you are going to cut the card. The cutting line needs to be approximately a quarter of the way up the front of the card.
Use scissors or a scalpel to remove the top section of the card.
Cover the small flap at the front of the card with white card or paper using double sided tape to hold the paper in place.
Cover the inside of the card stock with blue card stock leaving a small border around the edge.
Then place a sheet of red card stock in the centre of the blue card, again leaving a blue border around the edge. Use double sided tape to hold the card in place.
Once the inside and outside are covered the card should look like this.
Select your paper nation decoupage print. In this case the card is for a small boy so select the sheet accordingly. You can use any decoupage print you have and adapt the card to suit you decoupage.
Carefully cut out all your decoupage piece.
Put the pieces together using 3D foam.
With paper nation decoupage you can purchase background papers along with the decoupage sheet this paper can be used for the ‘SON’ wording across the inside of the card.
Use large letter templates to draw round and write the word son.
Cut the letters out using very sharp scissors.
Place the letters onto blue card stock using double sided tape.
Carefully cut the letters out using sharp scissors so that the letters have a blue border around them.
Place the letters across the top inside of the card using double sided tape to keep them in place. Angle them slightly rather than having them in a straight line.
Next place the main decoupage in the centre of the front flap of the card using double sided tape.
Place the other pictures and decoupage along side the main decoupage.
You should now have a great boy’s card fit for many different occasions.
