Begin making this homemade card by folding a sheet of A4 white card in half. I tend to use a textured card stock such as hammered because it gives a more professional look to your finished design.
Select some stripy patterned paper from you card making supplies. I used Diecuts with a View Luxury 12 Inch by 12 Inch Paper Stack. Cut it smaller than the base card. Cut the bottom edge with decorative scissors to leave a decorative edge.
Use double sided tape to attach the panel to the front of the card making sure there is a small gap around the sides and top, and a larger gap at the bottom.
To make the strip of card that goes across the middle of your homemade card you will need to cut a length of hammered white card stock. You then need to cut a smaller strip of paper. Try to use a sheet that has the same colour but a different pattern, if you have the Diecuts with a View Luxury 12 Inch by 12 Inch Paper Stack this will be easy to do.
Use double sided tape to attach the paper onto the white card.
Place the strip of card across the centre of the base card using double sided tape to hold it in place.
To make the square you will need to use the same white and patterned card. Cut a square using a scalpel and metal edge ruler. Place the patterned paper on top of the white card using double sided tape.
You then need to cut a heart shape that will go in the centre of the square. If you are not good at drawing freehand, you could always have a look online to see if there are some free heart shape images you could print off and cut out. Alternatively, look for something you can trace or use as a guide.
Once you have your heart shape, cut a smaller heart from your patterned paper and place this on top of the white heart using double sided tape.
Place a jewel or crystal in the centre of the heart. If the jewel you use is heavy make sure you use appropriate glue or glue dots to avoid it falling off.
Place the square topper embellishment on the front of the card on the left hand side. Use 3d foam pads to make it to stand out slightly. Place a peel off sticker along the bottom of the card for your congratulation wording such as, ‘on your wedding day’
If you do not have any peel off stickers then you may want to consider printing the words or using rub-ons.
This homemade wedding card is perfect if you want to send a personal homemade card but do not have a lot of time.
