Handmade Cards With Sympathy Messages

sympathy messagesSometimes when sending a handmade card with your sympathy messages it is best to make a simple card design and have the appropriate colours and themes. This sympathy card idea is really easy to make and uses very few card making materials leaving your sympathy messages as the main focus of the card. Anyone can make this card even if you are a complete card making beginner.

white cardstock

Begin by folding an A4 piece of white cardstock in half and then cutting it down to size so that it fits inside a DL size envelope. You can purchase cardstock already cut to size however it is far cheaper to make your own by using a bone tool and board and a paper trimmer.

Once the card is cut to size you then need to find a sheet of black and white rose paper or something similar. Using a scalpel and metal ruler cut a rectangle slightly smaller than the base of your sympathy card as shown above.

Attach the paper to the card using double sided tape or sticky dots.

Sympathy messages

To add the sympathy messages find some peel off stickers with the words ‘Thinking of you’ and attach them to a small square of card as shown above. If you do not have peel off stickers you can also use a rubber stamp or print the words if you have access to a printer and computer.

Next, cut a slightly bigger piece of grey card and trim one edge with decorative scissors.

sympathy message

Place the white sympathy message square of card onto the grey card using double sided tape to hold it in place. Use some white string and wrap it around the bottom section of the grey card and use tape to hold it in place on the back of the card.

Sympathy cardThis card is really easy to make. Hopefully this neat and simple card will deliver the message you need it to. You can adapt this handmade card if you wish by using ribbon instead of string and change the wording by adding your own personal sympathy messages.
