This handmade, happy birthday card idea is really cute and would suit both a young or older woman.
Begin by folding a sheet of A4 card stock in half. I have used a textured card stock which gives the card a really professional look. If you do not have any textured cardstock in your card making supplies then you could always emboss some plain card yourself using an embossing stensil. If you do not have either of these to hand then a plain piece of card will be fine.
Select a sheet of cute decoupage prints. Here I have chosen to use a decoupage sheet that has small dormice on it. As you can see the decoupage sheet has the same colour as the background of my card, making the background tie in beautifully with the main image.
Begin by cutting out each section of the decoupage sheet using good sharp scissors so that the cuts are clean and crisp.
Use 3D foam to build up each layer. Once the decoupage has been carefully put together you can then mat and layer the entire image onto some silver mirror card to give it a shiny border.
Because the decoupage has been mounted onto silver mirror card it is a good idea to use silver peel off stickers for the happy birthday wording you are going to add to the front of the card.
Place the happy birthday words along the right hand side of the card.
You can then place your decoupage image next to the happy birthday wording, attaching it in place using double sided tape.
Once the image is secured you will need to create the bows that will fill the space on the left hand side. Select two different types of organza ribbon and make up around five small bows that are wide enough to fit in the space.
Attach the bows alternating the different ribbons using large sticky dots or really strong double sided tape.
A really cute homemade happy birthday card idea that is quite simple to make for any card maker.
