Card making enthusiasts will no doubt have rubber stamps in their card making supplies. Rubber stamps are a great way to create backgrounds and focal points for your homemade cards.

For your card base you will need to select a piece of A4 black card stock and fold it in half. This creates a C5 size card base.

Cover the top part of the card in spotty paper (preferably with different shades of grey spots) and make sure this is cut slightly smaller than the black card so that a small border can be seen along the top and sides and a larger border along the bottom.

Use double sided tape to set the paper in place.

Cut a strip of patterned black and white paper to cover the bottom panel. This time do not leave a border.

On a white piece of card that is cut smaller than the front of the card, stamp and emboss an image in black embossing powder. Here I have used a butterfly stamp however you can use whatever stamp you wish.
Stamp the image several times, making sure a whole image is in the centre and parts of the image can be seen around the edge.

Mount some white card stock onto black card and cut out leaving a black border.

Place this onto the top half of the card using 3D foam pads to secure it in place and make it stand out.

Find some black organza ribbon in your card making supplies and run it along the inside edge of the card tying a neat bow at the top.

You then need to give the card the happy birthday wording. I have made the card a happy birthday card however you can change this to suit any occasion.

Stamp the happy birthday wording onto white card and mount onto black card leaving a framed edge.

Attach the happy birthday wording to the bottom section of the card using 3d foam pads so that it stands out as far as the butterfly images.

You should now a have a beautiful stamped happy birthday card to give to someone.
