A4 white cardTo begin making this handmade card idea you will need to select a sheet of A4 white card and fold it twice creating three panels.

Draw a line from the second fold down, almost to the bottom of the left hand side of the card.

make a cut in the backing cardUse a scalpel and metal edge ruler to remove the top left hand section of the card.

Folding a cardFold the card and cover the back and front panel with the brown patterned paper. Use double sided tape to hold it in place.

green and brown card making paperUse the green and brown paper for the center panel.

a peel-off sticker on a cardUse a gold border peel off sticker along the tops of the card.

card tagsTo make the tags, cut two tag shapes from white card then mount them on to one of the sheets of paper from the stack. I used a cream coloured one.

butterflies on card tagsThen place one butterfly on each tag using double sided tape. Place the butterflies at a slight angle.

using an eyelet setterUse an eyelet setter to punch some holes in the top of the tag. I used this one here.

The We R memory keepers crop-A-Dile  is a really handy gadget that you can use over and over again it is very robust and should be part of any card making enthusiasts kit bag. If you are also into scrapbooking then you, may wish to consider purchasing the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite Punch which will let you punch much further into your scrapbook paper.

organza ribbonYou will now need to find some organza ribbon.
I only had some cream organza ribbon but wanted to use brown. In order to change the colour, and this is a really good card making tip, run the ribbon along a brown inkpad. If you are going to use this method to change the colour of your ribbon make sure the ribbon is dry before attaching it to a card.

thank you wording on card tagsSecure a gold eyelet in the holes that you made and then place the ribbon through the holes. You can then add a small peel-off sticker with your thank you wording onto one of the tags.

A Butterfly Handmade Thank You CardPlace the two tags on the card using strong double sided tape and you should now have a professional looking homemade thank you card.
