This handmade card has been made up using papers from the Die Cuts with a view luxury paper stack.
The papers in this book are of a very high quality and will add a touch of elegance and class to any of your handmade cards. The stack is perfect for any special occasion and the thick paper has a beautiful sheen making the prints really stand out. You can buy the paper stack here.
.
To begin making this handmade card idea you will need to select a sheet of A4 white card and fold it twice creating three panels.
Draw a line from the second fold down, almost to the bottom of the left hand side of the card.
Use a scalpel and metal edge ruler to remove the top left hand section of the card.
Fold the card and cover the back and front panel with the brown patterned paper. Use double sided tape to hold it in place.
Use the green and brown paper for the center panel.
Use a gold border peel off sticker along the tops of the card.
To make the tags, cut two tag shapes from white card then mount them on to one of the sheets of paper from the stack. I used a cream coloured one.
Stamp a butterfly print
twice onto the off cuts of the paper used to cover the main card. I used a quick drying Stazon black ink which perfect for stamping your prints.
Cut the butterflies out using sharp scissors.
Place one on top of the other and use 3d foam to separate them.
Then place one butterfly on each tag using double sided tape. Place the butterflies at a slight angle.
Use an eyelet setter to punch some holes in the top of the tag. I used this one here.
The We R memory keepers crop-A-Dile is a really handy gadget that you can use over and over again it is very robust and should be part of any card making enthusiasts kit bag. If you are also into scrapbooking then you, may wish to consider purchasing the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile II Big Bite Punch which will let you punch much further into your scrapbook paper.
You will now need to find some organza ribbon.
I only had some cream organza ribbon but wanted to use brown. In order to change the colour, and this is a really good card making tip, run the ribbon along a brown inkpad. If you are going to use this method to change the colour of your ribbon make sure the ribbon is dry before attaching it to a card.
Secure a gold eyelet in the holes that you made and then place the ribbon through the holes. You can then add a small peel-off sticker with your thank you wording onto one of the tags.
Place the two tags on the card using strong double sided tape and you should now have a professional looking homemade thank you card.
