My advice is to keep it as simple and plain as possible and stick to two colours such as black and white, or grey and white.
Try to keep the words and messages simple and not too personal as it is very easy to offend someone by saying the wrong thing.
You do not want your sympathy card to be too big, so I would suggest using a DL size piece of card. In this case I have used black card but you can use whatever you have in your card making supplies as long as it is not brightly coloured.
To keep the card simple, use a single stamped image as the focal point. Make sure the image is something uncomplicated like a flower, or a tree.
Stamp the image onto white card stock paper. It is up to you if you want to emboss the image. In this instance I have left it plain and simple and stamped the image in black StazOn ink. Stazon ink is fast drying so you can pretty much use the stamped image straight away without fear of it smudging.
Cut the image out using a scalpel and metal edge ruler or a paper trimmer, or whatever you prefer to use.
Mount the image onto black and white card and place on the front of your card using double sided tape.
The wording has been printed from a computer. If you do not have access to a printer then you can use peel off stickers, rubber stamps, or anything you have in your card making supplies to use for the words on the front of the card.
As previously said, it is difficult to know exactly what to say in a sympathy card. If you are going to put wording on a sympathy card or in a sympathy card then you need to choose the words very carefully.
Avoid anything that tries to say you know how the person is feeling. Try instead to find sympathy card wording that is uplifting and offering hope, and wording which offers support and help.
This verse is going to be placed inside the card. The insert is white so I have mounted the words onto black card first.
Use double sided tape to secure the words in place.
A sympathy card, with simple sympathy card wording that can be replicated using different colours of card, and a different image for the focal point.
