I began by folding a piece of white card to a DL or ‘Tall Card’ style. I normally use a score board and bone tool to do this as you can score the exact measurements, however if you do not have these to hand a DL size card measures 10cm x 21cm when folded.
I then found a piece of blue bazzill cardstock in my card making supplies which I cut into a rectangle that was smaller than the front of the card.
I placed a lighter blue triangle in the bottom corner of the card and placed a piece of white zig zag ribbon over the top.
The decoupage paper I used is a kind of Beatrix potter style decoupage. I made this up using 3D foam and using decoupage scissors
I positioned the decoupage onto the front and secured it with double sided tape.
I then wanted to make a tag. I did this by printing the words ‘Especially for you’ onto a piece of card. I cut the card into a strip and folded it over using a brad to hold it in place. I cut the edges to a point using sharp scissors.
I pushed the brad through the blue card to help secure it in place and also added a little double sided tape to ensure it didn’t move around.
The panel was then placed onto the front of the white card. I placed the panel nearer to the right hand side because I wanted to add some ribbon down the left hand side of the card.
After rummaging around in my card making supplies I found this piece of blue organza ribbon. I cut a slit at the top of the card and passed the ribbon through, tying it in a bow at the front.
I think you will agree this is a really cute handmade card. As I said you can easily change the colours of this handmade card, or if you are unable to find similar decoupage paper, you can simply use whatever you have and just use the same layout as I have done.
