The card is a DL shaped 10 x 21cm folded. I have used white card stock, however as the whole front of the card will be covered in scrapbook paper it is a good time to use up what you have laying around in your card making supplies.
I found this piece of scrapbook paper in my craft supplies which I thought would work perfectly with the ‘fishing’ theme of this homemade card.
I covered the entire front of the white card with the fishing paper. If you wanted to you could also cover the back, it really depends on how much time you have and if you have enough of the backing paper you are using.
Using what was left of the scrapbook paper I then cut out some of the fish. I decided to cut out two of each so that I could make them 3d by placing some 3d foam in between the two fish I had cut out.
I knew if I added the 3d fish directly onto the card they would probably get lost in the cards busy background, so I needed a solid colour to stick them onto. I decided to use some green Bazzill card stock which I cut into a large circle using a Fiskars circle cutter.
I then needed to create my happy birthday message to go on the front of this card idea. I found some ‘Happy Birthday’ Peel off stickers and placed them onto a piece of the same green Bazzill card as I had used to attach the 3d fish.
I used decorative scissors to create a fancy edge around the happy birthday message.
Next I placed the happy birthday wording onto the green Bazzill card giving it a mat and layered effect. At any of these stages you could use 3d foam if you wanted to give the wording a prominent look.
You should now have a finished and lovely men’s birthday card.
