Homemade Card Of Congratulations

Homemade CardThis congratulations card can be used for a variety of homemade card ideas such as a wedding, birth, and anniversary or for any event you want to wish someone congratulations.

Below is a step by step guide to show how this congratulations card is made.

folded white card stockTo begin making this congratulations card I used a white A4 piece of card stock paper and folded both sides in to meet in the middle. A bone tool was used to make the fold. If you want to make the sides exactly the same size, measure where the centre of the piece of A4 is, and draw a faint line, then fold the sides of the card in so that they meet at the line.

double sided tapeI wanted to make the sides of this card a different colour so I placed double sided tape on each side of the card before covering them in my chosen coloured card stock paper.

blue pearlescent card stockI used a blue pearlescent card stock paper to cover the front but you can use whatever you have in your card making supplies.

white zigzag ribbonNext find some ribbon in your card making supplies. Preferably something not very thick, so it doesn’t take up too much space on the card. Try to stick with a solid colour. Here I have chosen white.

white ribbon being attached to a a handmade cardI used a wet glue to glue the ribbon down each side of the card. Place paper clips on the ribbon to hold it in place while it dries.

decoupage of a champagne glassYou then need to put together your decoupage paper. I have used a large decoupage of two little mice drinking from a champagne glass.

Use 3d foam to build up the layers of decoupage paper. If you feel your decoupage image may be too prominent, don’t be afraid to leave out a layer or two.

champagne glass decoupageOnce the decoupage paper has been put together mount it onto white card leaving a small border. This not only frames the decoupage but gives it a solid base so it is less likely to bend when placed on the front of your homemade card.

A handmade wedding cardSecure the decoupage onto the front of one of the sides of the card using strong double sided tape.

congratulations wordingThe wording for the centre of the card can either be rubber stamped, printed or stuck on using stickers or peel offs. I have also added a small picture in the corner to finish it off so the verse does not look too lonely.

I think this is a great homemade card idea and it’s really handy to have in your card making supplies for those occasions that pop up unexpectedly and you need a card at short notice.

Homemade CardA really pretty congratulations card.
