Sometimes you need to make a card in a hurry especially if it’s to say thank you to someone for something they have done for you.
This thank you card is really simple and easy to make. You can also easily change the occasion the card is for by altering the wording to make it a wedding anniversary card, birthday card or even a valentine’s card.
I decided to make the card DL sized and used a score board and bone tool to fold the card. You can fold the card free hand if you wish but take care if using a craft knife to score the card as it is very easy to make an incision if you press to hard.
I then found a piece of purple card in my card making supplies and cut it slightly smaller than the actual card itself. Use a scalpel and metal edge ruler but you can use a trimmer if you prefer.
Next cut a white piece of hammered card slightly smaller than the purple card cut previously.
Use scraps of scrapbook paper to create four rectangle pieces of paper.
Then attach the four pieces of scrapbook paper to the front of the white piece of card using double sided tape to secure them in place.
Once firmly in position, place the white card onto the purple card using double sided tape.
Next, select a ‘thank you’ rubber stamp from your craft supplies. If you wanted to make a birthday card you would just need to change the thank you card wording to be ‘happy birthday’
I used a purple ink pad to ink the rubber stamp as this would match the purple card that had been used.
I used a clear embossing powder and a heat gun to emboss the thank you card wording.
After cutting the wording into a square I then used scraps of left over paper and card to mat and layer the wording. The same papers have been used for this so they correspond. I also used a layer of 3d foam to give it some depth.
Using strong double sided tape secure the thank you card wording to the centre of the panel that had been made earlier.
Then attach the panel to the DL card. The great thing about this handmade card is that you can chop and change the colours and papers depending on what occasion you want the card for and what you have hanging around in your card making supplies. Making it is really quick, cheap and easy.
