Christmas greeting cards that are handmade are great fun to make and you can personailse your card designs for that special someone.
This Christmas greeting card is a snowman with Christmas trees which most card makers will be able to make easily.
To start making this snowman Christmas greeting card you will need a sheet of black A4 card. Fold the two ends into the centre of the card creating two openings.
I then chose this piece of scrapbook paper from my card making supplies as it has a Christmas theme. I also thought it would be perfect to make the little Christmas tress at the bottom 3D. Please note in order to do this you would need a second sheet of the same paper.

Next I cut two strips off the scrapbook paper and attached them to the two sides of the card using double sided tape. In order to create a frame for your Christmas card leave about a centimetre around the edge.
From the second sheet of scrapbooking paper I carefully cut out the exact same trees that appear on the card.
Using 3d foam is a great way to give your handmade card ideas some depth and personality.
I then selected a snowman rubber stamp from my card making supplies and stamped it several times onto different pieces of patterned paper. The reason for this was so I could cut out different parts and overlay each part on the original stamped image.
I would cut the scarf from the stripped paper, the bird from the blue paper, and the red and grey card would be used for the hat. Doing this gives the snowman a far more defined image as opposed to just colouring in the sections using gel pens or pencils.
That said, if you are pushed for time you can just colour your snowman using pens as cutting out the sections is fiddly and time consuming.
I used a roller glue and tweezers to cautiously attach the parts to the snowman taking great care to place them in the correct position.
The finished snowman will look really neat and professional if done properly.
I then mat and layered the snowman onto black card and then onto the same paper I used for the Christmas trees.
Finally, using double sided sticky tape I stuck the stamped snowman image onto one side of the card.
The finished Christmas card looks fabulous and a great handmade card idea to make for your friends and family.
I’m new to card making and love getting awesome ideas. This is sooo cute! It appears easy to make too, which is a plus for me as it takes me some time to get creative. I’m too analytical…
Hi Jo
Yes this is a good card idea if you are a beginner. I know what you mean about being analytical but sometimes you just have to leave the perfectionist in you behind and go for it. The more cards you make the better you will be and before long will be an expert card maker;)

This is such a fantastic idea, thank you! I’m new to card making and stumbled upon this website while browsing the net for ideas. I’m wondering though, how do we write our messages on the black paper?
Hi, As an idea u could use a white gel pen or insert a sheet of white paper
Jem, yes Laura has the right idea, I would have added a white piece of paper on the inside so that you can write your message
