This baby girl card is so simple to make and the design can be repeated over and over again to make wonderful looking handmade cards.
To make this baby girl card you will need an 8″x8″ piece of paper. You will need two pieces the same to achieve the look I have. You will need to use one for the base and one to cut up and decoupage.
First decide the size of your card. Here I used an A4 piece of card for card making and folded it in half. It doesn’t matter what color the card is as this will be covered however remember if using dark card you will need to add an insert so that you can write your card messages inside.

Cut the piece of patterned paper to fit the card front. Remember this can be done with any patterned paper as long as you have two sheets the same to decoupage.
You will then work on the sheet of paper not the card as it is far easier than adding bits to the card and then having to hide them when they show on the back of the card.
Take your second matching sheet of paper and cut out a few of the matching prints, in this case its animals. Carefully cut out a few and use foam pads to attach them to the first piece of paper.

I then used a Sizzix machine to make a frame. You do not need to use a sizzix machine as this is a simple shape that can be drawn and cut out with scissors. I also used a sidekick machine to cut out the words ‘Girl’ using left over bits of the original paper. You could also use a peel offs or rub-ons if you prefer.

Because the frame was cut from card it blended into the card which made it hard to see. I therefore used an ink pad to color the frame and embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it stand out. If you have an embossing powder that matches the paper and makes the frame stand out then you could also use that.
I chose a piece of backing paper to place behind the frame and mount the letters on so that the letters themselves stood out as well as the frame.

Then using a piece of organza ribbon that matched the frame and the paper I threaded it through the frame. Turn the paper over and attach the ribbon to the back of the paper to leave the front looking neat and tidy

Then attach the paper to the card.
TIP: If you are using double sided tape run the tape along the sides of the card and only peel back a small amount of the tape bending the paper backing to point away from the card. This way if you place the paper on incorrectly you can re adjust the paper with out the risk of to much damage being done to .
