Making a shaker card is always good fun and is something a little different than typical handmade cards
To begin this shaker card fold an A4 sheet of card in half and apply double sided tape around the edges and in the middle.
Cover the card with some appropriate paper. Here I have used brick patterned scrapbook paper however a wood style would be just as good.
Use an ink pad to ink all around the edges of the card. Sprinkle embossing powder over the ink and tap off any excess.
Use a heat gun to emboss the edges. You may find that the card bends when heated, if so place the card under some heavy books until it flattens back out.
Rubber stamp an image twice onto card. One will be used as the background and with the other cut out the tools to decoupage or make a 3d image.
I used twinkling H20s to color the image however you could use peel off pens, pencils, paint, gel pens or whatever you have in your craft supplies.
Cut out your main image and the separate tools you will use to decoupage.
Use 3d foam to apply the tools.
Place strong double sided tape on the back of the image and attach some acetate.
Once the acetate is in place add some 3d foam all the way round taking care not to leave any gaps.
Place some nuts, bolts, nails etc inside and cover with another layer of acetate.
Attach the picture to the card. Use an eyelet setter to set two eyelets at either side of the card.
Thread metal letters onto some string. Pass the ends of the string through the eyelet holes and secure inside the card using tape.
You should now have a finished men’s handmade shaker card.
